Rest in Peace: Rev. Loren Arthur Broadus, Jr.
Rev. Loren A. Broadus, alumnus and longtime Professor of the Practice of Ministry at Lexington Theological Seminary, died Saturday, August 25, 2018, in St. Augustine, Florida. Rev. Broadus taught at LTS from 1968 until his retirement in 1995. Faculty, staff and students alike remember him as one of the most beloved professors at LTS, always able to bring smiles to those around him. Rev. Broadus also spent time as the Director of Development at LTS and as the pastor of First Christian Church, Mayfield, Ky., before joining the faculty in 1968.
Rev. Broadus was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine, in 2013, and is survived by their three sons and daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, August 31, at Crestwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1882 Bellefonte Dr., Lexington, Ky., where Loren served as an elder and in other leadership positions. The memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 1, also at Crestwood, with a reception immediately following the service. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery following the reception.
