Webinar May 27: Congregational and Pastoral Care by Laity
Laity are key care-givers in every congregation. Gain more pastoral care skills and assessment tools that you can call upon in those moments when someone needs care from you. In this webinar, Dr. Park-Hearn will introduce a range of situations for which congregational members might seek care, and identify the skills and tools that will help you respond. In addition, she will address theological commitments that ground pastoral care and the importance of self-care.
Dr. Jeney Park-Hearn, is adjunct professor of Pastoral Care at Lexington Seminary and Seattle University. As the Director of Clinical Services at the Clinebell Institute for Pastoral Counseling and Psychotherapy in Claremont, CA, she helped coordinate a homeless shelter and a transitional program for paroled women. Her ministry also has included work as Pastor of Community Life at Holliston UMC and as President of Transgeneration Ministry.
